VGIK and Mongolian cinema have had a long history of friendly relationships. Many famous Mongolian filmmakers graduated VGIK in different historical periods. Among them are scriptwriters, directors, cameramen and artists. And now this tradition is continuing.

As a part of the “Festival of Mongolian cinema in Moscow” a delegation of modern Mongolian filmmakers visited VGIK on November 18, 2010. Among them were famous Mongolian film director Zhanchivdorzh Sengedorzh (“Oxygen”) and actor Davgazhamts Batsukh (“Operation Tatarin”).

Our guests had a meeting with Vice-Rector V.Slepokurov. They exchanged their points of view on film-educational process. Then our guests visited the Film Directing Department, where they were greeted by the Dean N.Skuybin, and the Art Department.

The actor Davgazhamts Batsukh with the big interest observed the lessons of the dance and vocal classes of the Acting Department students. The guests had a tour on our Film Studio, where Yu.Razinova, Head of the Film Processing Laboratory of Film Studio, guided them through the different workshops. During all tours our guests were accompanied by the friendly staff of VGIK International Affairs Department.

The guests expressed their hope to establish strong relationship with our film school.
