28 VGIK International Film Festival
10-15 November, 2008
International Jury of Film Competition headed by prominent documentary filmdirector Aleksander Gutman announced winners of International competition on the closing ceremony of 28 VGIK International Festival, which took place in cinema theatre Kosmos on 15th of November. 34 film schools from 28 countries have been participating in the Festival.

Best fiction film - "Anthem", dir. Elad Keidan, The Sam Spiegel Film & TV School, Jerusalem, Israel
Best documentary film – "52 percent", dir. Rafal Skalski, The Polish National Film School, Lodz, Poland
Best animation film - "Signal", dir. Adrian Fluckiger, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland,
Best film school programme - Hamburg Media School, Germany
Special mentioning of the Jury:
"9 forgotten songs", dir. Galina Krasnoborova, VGIK, Russia
"Face-to-face confrontation", dir. Igor Homsky, VGIK, Russia
"The Air Ace", dir. Svilen Dmitrov, National Academy for Theatre & Film Arts (NATFA) “Krustyo Sarafov”, Bulgaria
"My brother", dir. Jan Wagner, The Polish National Film School, Lodz, Poland
That year Festival stopped to make Audience Award with the voting of spectators and started new Jury, which is consist with the students from 5 Universities of Moscow (VGIK, Higher Courses of Directors and Scriptwriters, Moscow Culture University, Russian State Gumanitarian University, State Institute of Television and Radio).
